Class #23

Parents and Students,

Please remember the following things for class tomorrow:

  • Calculators!  Remember that bringing calculators to class is part of your homework grade.  More importantly, you can not practice working the problems without  a calculator.
  • We will be reviewing in class a little for the Final Exam tomorrow.  Remember to have all your old tests neatly organized in your notebook for quick access!  These are all posted on the website on the homework page if you need to reprint any of them. (Tomorrow is class #23.  Only 7 classes after that, and only 6 before the exam!  Come prepared tomorrow.)
  • Be sure to bring the worksheet from last week to class tomorrow as we will be finishing that up in class.  Go to last week’s homework to reprint this.
  • No Bridge classes March 18-22 for Spring Break.

See you tomorrow- prepared and ready to go!

Molecular Geometry

Thanks for the hard work today!  I think you’ve got the hang of drawing these shapes now.  Don’t forget that you will have a quiz on the first three columns of today’s geometry table next week, January 24.  See you then!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year, Kids!

I hope you all have had a relaxing and fun break! Can you believe you are only 15 weeks away from the end of your chemistry class :)?

If one of your resolutions for 2013 is to be more diligent in your studies for any class, here’s a link you really should read. I think it’s an excellent resource. It’s really for college prep, but I think it would be perfect for homeschoolers as well. Plus, who doesn’t need a little early prep for college?

Now to our business at hand…

-You know there is one week of homework posted which is due on January 10. I will collect the Dec 6 assignment sheet as well as the Jan 10 one that day.
-We also will have a quiz that day on the polyatomic ions on p.288. You should be reviewing your flashcards for these. If you never made those recommended flashcards, here is a link to some online ones.
-One last thing, I will collect the Module 7 Test on January 10 as well.

Enjoy your last few days of freedom!

Snack Ingredients

Hey Kids- be sure to send me the name, 3 ingredients, and 3 formulas for your snack from yesterday. You can email it to me at homeschoolscience (at) live.com.

Sorry we had to miss class yesterday, I’m sure you were really upset by that :). There is one week of homework posted which is due January 10.

Thank you for your emails, we are slowly getting back to normal over here. I hope that you all have a very merry Christmas!

Don’t forget…

Hey Students,

Don’t forget to bring an empty 2 liter bottle and a seamstress tape measure tomorrow.  I’ll have the knives.  Remember to finish your postlab (this includes finishing any calculations we didn’t get to last week and writing the concluding paragraph).

See you tomorrow!
