New post

Students,

I sent the post for tomorrow a little too early :).  The email you just received should have gone out after class tomorrow.  The two prelabs are not due until January 15.  Tomorrow you will need to have your Prelab 9.1 and the handout we need to finish for the Molecular Models.

See you tomorrow!  jb

Molecular Geometry, etc.

Students,

I think you are getting the hang of these shapes now!  New homework is posted; remember the quiz on the geometry table (Jan 22).  There is a lab file linked this week with two prelabs!  Don’t forget to write prelabs for each of the linked labs.  Have a great weekend! jb

Christmas Break…

chem christmas cardStudents,

We are starting Christmas Break as of today.  We will not meet again until January 8.  Can you believe you are halfway?!  Thank you for all your hard work!  I hope that your break is fun and refreshing.

Remember that you have one week of homework due January 8 which includes a test and 2 prelabs, among other things.

Merry Christmas, and I’ll see you in 2015!  jb

Last class of the semester

Hey Gang,

I hope you’ve all had an enjoyable break. Remember that this week is the last class of the semester. While we will be having our regularly scheduled class this week and covering some very important concepts, we will make it a little more festive by snacking while we complete our molecular geometry activity.

You may bring a snack to share (no nuts, please). If you will handwrite the chemical formula for 3 ingredients to your snack on a piece of notebook paper, you will receive bonus points. Please bring utensils for your dish, if needed. I will provide paper goods and drinks.

Also, please keep in mind that ALL makeup work must be turned in this week.

It’s been a fun ride this semester, and you are almost halfway! Good work! JB

Thanksgiving Break!

Kiddos- Enjoy your time off and the turkey.

Remember:

  • Last day of the semester is Dec 4.
  • Memorize those PA Ions for a quiz on Dec 4 (p.288).
  • We will finish the models and geometry on Dec 4.
  • Optional: Bring a snack in to share on the last day.  If you legibly write down the chemical formulas for 3 ingredients of your snack on notebook paper, you will receive extra credit.
  • All make up work must be turned in by Dec 4 for credit.

Enjoy the break!  jb

  • Continue working this week through the videos here.  These will be very helpful!
  • Quiz Dec 4 on the Polyatomic Ions on p.288.

9:45a Class Canceled

Parents and Students,

9:30a/9:45a classes are canceled at The Bridge today due to inclement weather and road closings.  All other classes will take place as scheduled.

My first class will simply follow the homework as outlined on the Assignment Sheet as usual.  Let me know if you have any questions. Thank you! jb
