Remember…

Don’t forget to dress appropriately for lab Thursday.  And bring your calculators so that you don’t lose points!  You must bring them EVERY class (see your syllabus that you already signed).

Quiz tomorrow, too.  See homework page for more info.

Check the “In Class” page to see exactly what we will be doing!  See you soon! jb

Homework due Aug 27 | Module 1 Test

Good job today, everyone!  I hope that you are getting into the routine of things with this class.  I know there’s so much that is new.  Remember to always ask questions when you have them.

Your new homework is posted.  You’ll notice that my Module 1 Test is posted, too.  Please take the book test first (and check it on your own)- you’ll be glad you did!  Then take my test to turn in Aug 27.  You must show your work for all the math problems and use correct significant figures :).

burnerBurners next week, so as always, dress appropriately!

Have a wonderful week!  jb

Class Aug 20

Hey Guys,

Just a quick reminder that you will need to bring:

  • your syllabus and lab safety contract signed this week (for a grade)
  • your lab notebook with Unit Conversion Prelab handwritten (linked to the homework page; don’t wait until Thursday to ask about the format and content.  Email me tonight or tomorrow before noon)
  • appropriate lab dress (just to get in the habit)
  • your homework assignment sheet (signed) & your homework (always, in case there’s a quiz)
  • a metric ruler

See you in a couple of days!  jb

Welcome to 2016- 2017 Chemistry @ The Bridge!

homework

Parents & Students,

If you are receiving this post, then you have correctly “followed” my chemistry page.  👏🏼 You will receive most all class updates related to homework and assignments from this blog.  Tell your friends who have not yet “followed” me to do it ASAP (there are several who have not followed me)!

The first and second homework assignments are now posted (Due Aug 11 & 18).  Please bring your printed, completed, and signed Assignment Sheet (Aug 11), as well as, your signed Syllabus and Lab Safety Contract to class with you tomorrow. (And of course, all class supplies and completed homework.)

I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

JB

Exams and final grades

Students,

Wow! You made it! Thirty weeks of compound naming, formula writing, reactions, and lots of math.

You have accomplished so much in what really is a short amount of time. You will remember this class for the rest of your lives 🙂 … Maybe for good, maybe for bad, ha! I think you will remember it nonetheless, hopefully for the challenge it presented and as an obstacle which the Lord granted you grace to overcome (and maybe even enjoy).

If I can help you with any of those dual enrollment chemistry courses, you know I would be happy to do it. Just let me know.

Enjoy your summer and take time to thank God for it. It is a privilege and opportunity. Ask him to show you what he would have you do with your time over the next 2-3 months.

Your exam (with curve) and final grades are posted. Some of you have really impressed me. Good job!

By his grace alone,

Mrs. Jill

  4. Your last lab is this week, April 23.  Dress appropriately.
  5. Registration for new classes is Friday, May 1, 2015.  Students completing chemistry are ready for anatomy & physiology or physics.  See http://www.thebridgeclasses.org for details.

Have a great week!  I’ll see you Thursday.  JB

Buffer Prelab

Hey Kiddos,

Because I’ve gotten this question a couple of times, I thought I’d address it with everyone.

YES 🙂 you do need to write up a regular prelab in your notebook for the Buffer Lab.  You will include all the sections as usual.

Email me with questions. See you Thursday! JB

Thursday, March 26

Students,

As the temps get warmer outside (although this Thursday looks cooler), this is a friendly reminder that legs and feet which are not covered are not allowed to do lab, resulting in a zero for that lab.

Please wear clothing which covers your legs (full-length pants) and shoes which cover your feet entirely (no sandals, flip flops, Crocs, etc.).

Thanks! 🙂  jb
